Calvary Death is a brutal Death Metal outfit formed in 1987 as T'mulo de Ferro (Iron Grave), in the city of Ita'na, Brazil. It was one of the few bands that didn't originate in the prominent Belo Horizonte metal scene of the late 80s and early 90s. The band has used the Calvary Death moniker since 1991. It released its first full-length Jesus, Intense Weeping, in 1994 and took a long hiatus until the release of Serpent via Cogumelo Records.
Calvary Death's sound, which still holds true to its old school death metal roots, is an insane and furious soundtrack to Armageddon. The band's agenda is simple and powerful: Heathen themes, blasphemous song structures, and pure, brutal Brazilian Death Metal.
