In depth review from Blod'rstid ( http://www.holyterror.com/blod/ ):
"Ahhh, at long last, it's excellent to see that The Ajna Offensive has licensed this already legendary full-length from the equally infamous Norma Evangelium Diaboli label - significantly increasing its availability some two years after its original release. "Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice" remains my favorite Deathspell Omega release to date, marking both a growth and a shift in the band's approach towards a more progressive and perhaps intellectual aesthetic (musically/lyrically as well as visually) that retains the tangible ferocity and aggression of earlier works. The fact of the matter is, however, that this is a completely massive conceptual epic - its 13 tracks heavy-handedly putting forth well over an hour's worth of unconventional (though not entirely) and dynamic black metal - venturing in and out of cold, crushing dissonance and mangled bursts of speed with varying degrees of experimentally discordant textures and subtly warped layering techniques, even branching out towards segments of rumbling ambience and loosely structured tangents of noise on more than one occasion. The recording boasts just the right amount of density and clarity without losing any cohesion or atmosphere - burying the more chaotic or uniquely melodic guitar textures deep in the mix behind the dominance of the core rhythms - while the oft-explosive percussion runs circles around the core, of course peeling back to more spacious and restrained levels when necessary. It's just impossible to capture all of the little twists and complexities of this album with words, but its overwhelming levels of feeling and artistry leave no room for argument as to why "Si Monvmentvm..." has so quickly become a true classic. A masterpiece indeed, and from one of the most visionary black metal hordes of our time. Salut!"
