Released at the height of the prog rock craze in 1972, Haikara's first album was modestly popular in Finland, but the band never made it to the kind of level of popularity that Wigwam and Tasavallan Presidentti did. Haikara's eponymous album, however, is nowadays rightfully considered as one of the most important and artistically successful Finnish prog albums. The Svart edition of Haikara's first album comes in gatefold covers and includes the original lyric sheet plus a reproduction of a rare concert poster from the time. Album layout has been prepared by the record's original photographer and layout artist Harri Hietala, and he's added previously unseen photos from his personal archives. The album has been mastered for vinyl from the original tapes at Orgone Studios. Prog historian Matti Pajuniemi provides new liner notes.
