Haunt, from Fresno, California, began as a solo project by Trevor William Church (Beastmaker). Meanwhile a real band, it is, in conscious contrast to the Beastmaker, traditional metal with a neat hard rock impact. Especially when it comes to guitar work, the NWOBHM is very close. Haunt's latest record, "Flashback," is by far the most mature, a dazzling blend of NWOBHM-coloured steel and a touch of progressive hard rock from the 1970s, that grows the more you hear it.
