At the third full-length, this time for Van Records, the German group WOUND continues the discourse started with the previous chapters by coherently summarizing their diversified background. While on the one hand we can hear clear echoes of At The Gates and Dissection, on the other it is evident that the band is not always interested in associating with a single genre, given that the songs often take a tortuous and progressive turn, incorporating classic metal elements. Without a doubt, "Serpent Crown" is the most refined and ambitious work of Wound, a group that over the years has gradually moved to a melodic more elegant death-black, aesthetically and emotionally approaching bands such as mid-career Tribulation or Chapel Of Disease.
