In July 2022, Malphas rented an apartment in France for a whole week, in order to concentrate on working on their new album Flesh, Blood & Cosmic Storms. The Swiss managed to write 90% of the album within that week. Meanwhile, each Malphas member brought their own personal influences and musical background to the creative process. The result is an album with a slightly more progressive touch than its predecessor, Divinity's Fall. Raw aggression and high tempo are repeatedly counteracted by melancholic parts, which are often accompanied by acoustic guitars. Nevertheless, Malphas don't hide their influences in any way, so that the Swedish Black Metal chainsaw stands as the foundation and link between the individual parts. The polyphonic vocals are particularly impressive, as all band members have taken on vocal parts on this album. But a highlight is definitely the song "Dead Death Dreams", in which Liv Kristine appears as a guest singer and thus gives the album the proverbial atmospheric icing on the cake.
