Detailed Description
Little is known about the highly talented band TONIC, who hail from the Stuttgart region. Their only LP "This Way" was released in 1980 on the Peak label, and was recorded at Sypgel Studios in Kirchheim/Teck. Peak was one of the labels run by Peter Garattoni and Gunther Marek, both active musicians with Eulenspygel. As is often the case, Achim Bosch (Sinner, Iris, Sphinx, Floating Opera, etc.) was responsible for the mixing. After the release of the album, most of the band members returned to the Tiefste Provinz line-up (one album). Only saxophonist Michael Draskowitsch remained active for many years as a session musician on various albums. If you look on the Internet at fan or collector sites devoted to krautrock and prog rock, you'll find many glowing reviews of the highly demanding LP "This Way". Today, you can't find an original in reasonable condition for less than 100 euros either. For this CD and LP reissue, an original was dubbed by Patrick Engel and then remastered by Andreas "Neudi" Neuderth. Both formats feature illustrations from the original LP. In this way, a piece of German music history has been saved.
