SHADOW KINGDOM RECORDS is proud to present the debut album of Louisiana’s VOID, Horrors of Reality, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.
While many bands have utilized the moniker VOID, none of them have hailed from Lafayette, Louisiana – and none of them have had such a powerful sound as this one! Formed in 2021, the band promptly set about releasing digital singles – two in 2021, one the next year – but it was their self-released debut album, 2023’s Horrors of Reality, where VOID made the name their own.
Featuring ten songs across 40 minutes, Horrors of Reality is a tour-de-force of technical thrash metal. With both jaw-dropping chops and immediately memorable hooks, VOID variously recall such noble influences as early Metallica, Mercyful Fate, and Annihilator but also the more cult likes of Toxik, Powermad, and Realm. Close your eyes while listening to Horrors of Reality and you’d swear it was 1989 all over again; from twisting thrash labyrinths to the clear & crunching production, everything about the album is as authentic as it comes. More than anything, though, VOID colorfully add to this rich mini-tradition rather than just regurgitating someone’s past glories…and they’re only getting started!
Now signed to SHADOW KINGDOM and preparing their second album – preceded by the devastating Return of the Phantom 7” single – VOID are having their Horrors of Reality debut released on a worldwide scale, on all formats. The age of VOID has just begun!
